After Earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan last week, there are obviously several services and industries hit badly as the road to recovery starts. The I though was a no brainer as a Disaster like that would sure disrupt several things. I didn’t see one of them things being the video game industry.
There has been 2 games that have been affected because of the incident. One is called Disaster Report 4 which has been cancelled and the other is Yakuza of the End which has been delayed. (more…)
After looking around the net for a while at reviews of the eagerly awaited Nintendo 3DS. I started to make note of the pre-order prices as I am pretty sure I going to give in and get one (even though the launch line up is questionably poor).
I started at the obvious place, Amazon. Here I saw that their best price for pre order is £197. Considering the RRP for the 3DS is around £230, I thought this was the best buy and pretty much had my mnd set.
Then on my weekly shop at Sainburys I saw their offer for the 3DS at £199.00 with 1000 nectar points. Now I havent done the math but this does work out at a slightly better offer if you use your nectar points and shop at Sainsburys enough.
Then I finally came across the cracking deal. I heard that at Morrisons they have slashed £10.00 off Amazons selling price and are pushing out the 3DS at £187.00. It only costs 10.00 to pre-order.
From looking around a bit I have changed my mind a few times but I don’t think this price will be beaten.
I thought I’d put this out there as I am sure a few people will find this useful. Of course if anyone knows of a place where the 3DS is being offered at a better price, please let me know in the comments below and I will update the post to include it.
£187.00 is definitely not too bad of a price for a brand new handheld console. I am just waiting for the decent games to follow. Theres only so long I can play Pilot Wings Resort.

Amazon have just dropped their price to compete with Morrisons. Seems to be a price war going on. Get your 3DS at this price before March the 31st and before stocks run out.
When I first looked at this video, I could immediately relate to this. No doubt many others could as well as this sort of thing happens way to much.

Since the Kinect was launched there has been quite a few people who are a lot smarter than us working on opening up the Kinect device for use on PCs.
This didn’t take very long to do and once it was fully hacked a stream of homebrew content for the Kinect came out. This one in particular has to be my favourite. The guy goes by the name of Roboczar and has made a synthesisizer out of the Kinect device by using different shapes on a piece of paper. I could tell you exactly what it does but its better to just watch the video here

Not more than 24 hours ago Sony revealed the first official news of their upcoming handlheld currently dubbed the NGP (Next Gen Portable).
I must admit, I did expect this to be a pure grunt machine that would be focussed on all out graphics with a ridiculously short battery but it would seem i have been proven wrong. Yes it does have very impressive graphics with similar capabilities of the PS3, a 960 x 544 pixel OLED that make the games look amazing. But all this with an expected battery life of up to 10 hours gameplay. If this turn out to be correct then Sony may be right on track with their new handheld. (more…)
You wouldn’t believe what a group of hardcore, dedicated half life fans can pull off. In fact I know i called it an amateur film in the title but it probably deserves more credit than that. With a few hundred quid and a few years this small team have made one hell of a movie for all the HL fans out there. (more…)
The longley awaited Nintendo 3DS has finally been revealed today at E3 2010. This is their newest handheld that is the true successor to the Nintendo DS. There is still the traditional touch screen at the bottom of the device but the top screen has been enlarged and has 3D capabilities. The main attraction to this handheld was the fact that they have been able to create a 3D screen without the need for glasses. Exactly how this is done or how well this will work is still unknown. Here is one of the 15 games due to be released for Kinect on Xbox 360. Looking at this video I think the Eyepet just got owned. Personally it’s not for me but I can imagine this sort of think having quite a big following. More of the 15 games will be added to this blog over the next few days.
Joystiqgot their hands on a brand new Xbox 360 Slim today and released this video for all to see. All I can say is this is looking very sleek and there are several redesigns that I can only imagine are to try to prevent piracy and the RROD. Bundled with the amazing price tag I think this is looking to fly off the shelves.
