New Xbox 360 Is the E74 Error back?

June 23rd, 2010

After surfing around on youtube I discovered this video of a guy that has just bought a New Xbox 360 slim.  He is showing the video as there are vertical lines on the screen. Now anyone who has done a fair bit of console repair before knows that symptoms like these usually means that the E74 error is on its way. With the new xbox 360 it may be called something else though. Read the rest of this entry »

RROD no more, New Xbox 360 Slim gets the Red Dot of Death RDOD

June 18th, 2010

It has been confirmed by Microsoft that the New Xbox 360 Slim does not get the Red Ring of Death anymore to confirm there is a problem with the machine. Instead we will get a red light in the centre of the power button. I can see the new Red Dot of Death catching on quite quickly. Although there is still no news on how this will give out an error code. We know that the E codes are still there, maybe there will just be more of the E codes. I am sure all will be revealed as soon as the New Xboxes are well established.

No RROD for New Xbox 360 Slim

June 18th, 2010

It has been announced that it is guaranteed that the New Xbox 360, coming out next month will never get the infamous RROD. But there’s more, the only reason it won’t get the RROD is simply because the xbox informs you of an error in a different way. A very clever move made by xbox to stop the typical RROD saying flowing aroundthe web. I don’t blame them for doing this though. The RROD saying has become so well known that it has sparked a similar phrase for the common PS3 problem, the YLOD.

I’m sure Microsoft would have been extra cautious to prevent the overheating issue but it does make you wonder what the error will show if it does ever get this problem again.

June 15th, 2010

Joystiqgot their hands on a brand new Xbox 360 Slim today and released this video for all to see. All I can say is this is looking very sleek and there are several redesigns that I can only imagine are to try to prevent piracy and the RROD. Bundled with the amazing price tag I think this is looking to fly off the shelves.
